Namah- I bow to or I honor.
Shiva- Shiva - literally means "good or auspicious." Shiva is the supreme Godhead. Everything is the form of Shiva. Lord Shiva exercises 5 functions: creation, (srsti), maintenance (sthiti), dissolution (samhara), obscuration, concealment, a hidden power, shakti (tiradhana), and grace (anugraha).
Namah Shivaya -purifies the 5 elements.
So this supreme Shiva is the goal of Om Namah Shivaya. In another aspect, He is presented as the destroyer. He destroys all the sins and impurities of those who repeat his name with Om Namah Shivaya. Shiva is the Being who puts an end to all our inner conflicts. He is the supremely quiescent Being. He is the supreme Bliss.
Gurave- embodiment of light (Gu) darkness or "removal of darkness", (Ru) "bestower of light" for it’s removal.
The Guru can be inside as the inner witness, and in the form of a spiritual master who has attained oneness with the Self/God
A Guru is one who is firmly convinced that he or she is the supreme consciousness; one whose mind is rooted in the highest reality; one who has a pure and tranquil mind; one who has realized one's identity with the Absolute.
